Peskov: Tensions after Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan will not subside soon, and such provocations do not go unnoticed

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that tensions after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan will not quickly subside, and China is taking legitimate steps to protect its security.

“The tension will not subside so quickly,” Peskov told reporters.

“Of course, against the background of such provocations, China is taking legitimate steps to protect its sovereignty, and, of course, such provocations do not remain without consequences,” Peskov added.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan heightened tensions between China, the US and Taiwan as China saw it as interference in its internal affairs.
