Peskov Responds to Schultz’s Remarks on Alpine Getaway with Putin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the words of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about his refusal to “travel with Putin to the Alps”, saying that the Russian president spends his days of rest only in his own country.

Earlier, Scholz said he would not take Putin on a tourist trip to the Alps, adding that he could take French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez with him.

Answering a journalist’s question: “What will happen if Putin goes on a tourist trip with Schultz?” Peskov said:

“I do not know what will happen. You know where Putin goes on tourist trips, where he spends his weekends – definitely not in the Alps, but inside our country.”
