Oil prices fall amid economic uncertainty

Oil prices fell in trading on Monday amid fears of an economic downturn that could affect global demand for black gold.

By 07:39 Moscow time, futures for US West Texas Intermediate oil fell 0.75% to $97.64 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Brent futures fell 0.74% to $93.97 a barrel, according to Bloomberg.

Traders in the energy markets continue to assess the outlook for oil demand in light of economic uncertainty, as efforts by global central banks to contain accelerating inflation could lead to a recession.
