The New York Police Department confirmed to Novosti that they are on constant alert and ready for possible protests against the background of former US President Donald’s appeal to his supporters and inviting them to protest.
Significantly, Trump said on Saturday that he expects to be arrested next Tuesday, urging his supporters to demonstrate against it.
Trump also criticized the Manhattan prosecutor’s office, calling it “grossly corrupt and politicized.”
In response to a question about whether the police had prepared in any way to organize the protests, the police replied: “The New York Police Department remains on constant alert, under all possible circumstances.”
“Our communication and coordination with our government and law enforcement partners is central to our commitment to public safety,” she added.
NBC previously reported that Trump could face charges next week in connection with an alleged payout to porn actress Stormy Daniels for keeping quiet about their alleged romance.
The former boss denies any connection with Daniels and any illegal actions on his part, and also refused to testify before the jury.
