Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak said that the Russian company Rosatom will soon submit documents as part of a tender for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Saudi Arabia.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said in a television interview on the sidelines of his participation in the Russian Energy Week forum, which is currently taking place in Moscow: “Today, the Kingdom plans to implement the first project to build a nuclear power plant. Our company, Rosatom, participates in a competition (tender) for the implementation of this project. Relevant required documents in the near future.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia is counting on the development of cooperation in this industry, not only in the construction of the nuclear power plant itself, but also in general in the field of the use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes.
To strengthen cooperation in the field of nuclear energy in 2018, Moscow and Riyadh signed a roadmap for cooperation in the field of “peaceful nuclear energy”.
