The Jordanian Food and Drug Administration has banned food products containing Acheta Domesticus (domestic cricket) powder from entering the Kingdom.

According to the circular, the institution will confiscate goods containing the inscriptions or images of the cricket insect, as well as prohibit their circulation in the markets of the Kingdom.

He pointed out that this ban applies to an industrial product or raw materials in its components. The circular lists the general requirements for halal food according to Jordanian specifications.
