North Korea has dismissed US accusations of supplying Russian artillery for use in the war in Ukraine, calling it “an unfounded and aggressive US attempt to discredit it.”

“We state once again that we have never had arms deals with Russia and do not intend to do so in the future,” the official North Korean news agency KCNA said, citing a statement by the deputy director for foreign military affairs. at the Ministry of National Defense of the North.

“These allegations of arms deals with Russia are aggressive US attempts to tarnish Pyongyang’s image,” she added.

Last week, US National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said North Korea had provided Russia with “a significant amount of artillery shells for use in Ukraine.”
