At least 38 people were injured in a fire that broke out on Saturday at an apartment building in downtown New York, with authorities saying the fire originated on the 20th floor of the building and was caused by an electric bike battery.
Authorities said one of the occupants tried to fix the bicycle in question and that he violated safety regulations, causing the fire.
And authorities indicated that since the beginning of the year in New York, 200 fires broke out in apartment buildings as a result of ignition of batteries of this type, because of them 6 people died.
