Russian President Vladimir Putin Inaugurates New Railway Line in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin today opened a new railway line connecting the west and east of the Russian capital as part of the government’s plan to keep pace with population growth in the capital and provide citizens with the best possible transportation services.

Inauguration Ceremony Attended by Moscow Mayor and Government Officials

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, as well as a number of officials from the Russian government and city authorities.

New Railway Line Details

MTSD3, which opened today, is about 85 km long and includes 41 new stations.

It connects the city of Zelenograd to the west of Moscow and the city of Ramensky to the east of it.

It is expected that the new railway line will facilitate the unloading of railway transport and the metro network in the capital and the region, as well as reduce the travel time for citizens through Moscow and its vast region.

Plans for Further Development

And in June last year, the Mayor of Moscow announced that this year the MTS 3 and 4 train lines connecting the Moscow Metro and external stations will be opened, and the MTS 1 and 2 train lines as part of the development of the railway and metro network in Moscow and the region, because in 10 years its length has doubled.
