NATO Finalizes Establishment of NATO-Ukraine Council and Schedules Inaugural Meeting

NATO confirmed the decision to establish the NATO-Ukraine Council, the first meeting of which will be held in Vilnius on July 12, on the second day of the summit of the heads of state and government of the Alliance.

The alliance’s statement reads: “On July 12, from 13:00 to 15:00, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the level of heads of state and government will be held with the participation of Sweden. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will deliver an open opening speech.”

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that the alliance wants to hold the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the July summit, which will be held in Vilnius.
