Muscle injury keeps Koeman away from Bayern and possible absence from France squad

French internationalist Kingsley Coman will miss tomorrow, Saturday, the match of Bayern Munich against Stuttgart in the sixth stage of the Bundesliga due to a muscle injury in training.

Koeman is also likely to miss France in the upcoming international window, which coach Didier Deschamps is due to announce on September 15.

Bavarian club coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke today, Friday, about Koeman’s injury and said: “I hope it will be a rupture of only one muscle fiber, and not a bundle of fibers.”

Later on Friday, Koeman is due to undergo a more thorough examination that will give a clearer picture of the extent of the injury.

The injury exacerbates the Roosters’ troubles with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba missing after undergoing knee surgery earlier this month.

Doubts have also been raised over the possibility of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema being absent after he was injured in a 3-0 win over Celtic at the start of this week’s Champions League group stage.

France will play Austria in the European Nations League on September 22, and on the 25th of the same month they will go to meet Denmark.
