Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a speech in New Delhi marking the 75th anniversary of his country’s independence from Britain that the next 25 years will be crucial for the country.
“Over the next 25 years, we must focus on addressing five issues: the development of India, removing the traces of slavery from our consciousness, caring for our ancient heritage, our unity and fulfilling our responsibilities,” Modi said.
He added that India is moving forward with its big goals to become a developed country before its centenary of independence.
“I invite young people to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives to the development of their nation. We will work for the development of all mankind. This is the strength of India,” he continued.
