The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has reported that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ordered an assessment of developments in Ukraine and a review of British aid to Kyiv.
A government source told the BBC that the directive was to analyze the data, assess the course of the war and examine how British military aid was being used in Ukraine.
He explained, “It has to do with what we presented and what result we got.”
He added that it was wrong to think that Sunak was “cautious” about helping Ukraine, stressing that “the British government’s support for Ukraine is unwavering.”
The source indicated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is “trying to encourage” Sunak to continue to provide strong support for Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that this year the UK has provided about $2.85 billion worth of military assistance to Ukraine and is considered one of its supporters. British deliveries included over 10,000 NLAW anti-tank missile systems, over 200 armored vehicles, M270 rocket launchers and Brimstone precision-guided missiles.
