Media: Relations between Washington and Tel Aviv are under threat because of the Iranian nuclear agreement

Relations between the United States and its main ally in the Middle East, Israel, are going through a tense period in connection with the closure of the nuclear deal with Iran.

According to the Axios website, citing informed sources, Israel is categorically opposed to returning to a nuclear agreement with Iran, and the progress made in recent weeks in negotiations on this issue causes Tel Aviv to fear that the United States may make concessions to Tehran. which are not in the interests of Israel.

For their part, White House officials have held a series of talks with their Israeli counterparts over the past week to reassure them that no new concessions have been made to Iran.

A White House source, who declined to be named, said: “The deal may be closer than it was two weeks ago, but the outcome of the talks is still unclear as differences remain. In both cases, the result does not seem guaranteed.”
