Media: Germany proposes to form an alliance with Asian gas importers to reduce prices

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has proposed an alliance with major gas importing countries to demand lower gas prices from exporters.

Citing private sources and diplomats, Politico said Schulz presented the proposal to European leaders during the Prague summit as Germany wants to use its G7 presidency to form this alliance.

This alliance is aimed at cooperation between the European Union, Japan and South Korea, which are among the largest buyers of liquefied gas in the world, in order to avoid overpricing.
