Manchester City Officially Sign Kovacic from Chelsea

Manchester City, last season’s treble champions, announced on Tuesday the signing of Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

Manchester City have completed the signing of a four-year contract with Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic, the club said in a statement.

He added: “The 29-year-old made 221 appearances in five seasons for Chelsea and won the Champions League, the Europa League (Europa League), the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup and was named Chelsea Player of the Year. his club in the 2019-2020 season.”

English newspapers reported that the value of the deal was about $32 million.

Kovacic’s contract will replace Germany’s Ilkay Gundogan, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer a few days ago after his Manchester City contract expired.
