The French Presidency has announced that President Emmanuel Macron will formally announce tomorrow, Wednesday, the end of the anti-terror operation Barhane in the Sahel region, about three months after the withdrawal of Barhane forces from Mali.
The Elysee Palace reported that the head of state, who is on a visit to the French city of Toulon, will deliver a speech that will provide “an opportunity to officially announce the end of Operation Barkhane and a serious adaptation of our bases in Africa.”
This announcement will not affect French military power in the region.
