Liverpool Legend Officially Joins Saudi Arabian League

Saudi football club Al Ittifaq announced today, Monday evening, the completion of the contract of the English team legend Steven Gerrard, who will take over as manager of the team until the summer of 2025.

Al-Ettifaq published a video clip of the former Liverpool and England star via their official Twitter account and commented: “Here is the source of the legends. We are pleased to announce the signing of Gerrard as manager of Al-Ettifak. Club.”

Gerrard had a lot of experience with the Rangers team where he led him to the Scottish Football League title in the 2020-21 season and he finished that season undefeated.

In November 2021, he took charge of Aston Villa and finished his first season in thirteenth place, but the start to his second season at the English club was not a good start as the team only managed one win in their first 12 matches, hastening the club’s decision to sack him in October of last year, and since then he has not been the captain of any team.

Notably, Al-Ettifak was seventh in the Saudi Professional Football League Roshan table last season with 37 points from 10 wins and seven draws against 13 losses.
