Liverpool Fans Demand Klopp to Ban Salah from Penalty Duties

Liverpool fans have demanded from their coach Jurgen Klopp to ban Mohamed Salah from taking the penalty and transfer the task to another player after the Egyptian star missed a penalty against Bournemouth last weekend.

Missed Opportunity Against Bournemouth

Against Bournemouth, Liverpool conceded an early goal in the third minute before Luis Diaz equalized and then Liverpool had a golden opportunity to move forward when they received a penalty.
But Salah wasted it.

Luckily for Al-Masri, the ball came back to him after the Bournemouth keeper blocked it and scored a second before Diogo Jota scored a third (3-1).

Frustration Among Liverpool Fans

Following the match, the Daily Star reported on the reaction of Liverpool fans on social media, with one saying: “It’s time to change and not let Salah take the penalty”.

Another said: “Yes, Salah should be banned from penalties this season, please. I’m not ready to watch the scenario of last season repeat itself (when Salah missed two penalties).”

A third added: “Don’t let Salah take another penalty again.”

Other tweets demanded that the opportunity to take a penalty instead of Salah was given to one of the newcomers, the Hungarian Dominic Suboslay or the Argentine Alexis McAlister, who have missed one penalty in their career.

Salah’s Penalty Record

As for Salah, he has conceded six penalties since joining Liverpool in 2017, including two last season.
