Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anushukas announced that his country had signed a contract with the United States for the purchase of eight HIMARS missile launchers.
“Today we signed a contract with the United States for the purchase of eight HIMARS missile launchers,” the Lithuanian minister told reporters after a meeting at the Pentagon with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.
Earlier, some media reported that Lithuania purchased ammunition for these launchers with a range of up to 300 kilometers.
According to a Pentagon press release, the ministers also discussed bilateral military cooperation, assistance to Ukraine and preparations for the NATO summit in Vilnius in July.
