Lavrov: Britain is looking for an excuse to send its warships to the Black Sea

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that London is trying to find pretexts to bring its fleet into the Black Sea in order to become the body that controls all grain transshipments from ports around which Ukraine has mined the water area.

“This food crisis is being used for various purposes, not only in the field of propaganda, to whitewash Ukraine and make Russia responsible for everything,” Lavrov said in an interview with Rossiya 1 TV channel today, Sunday.

He continued: “And if you listen, for example, to the statements of (British Prime Minister) Boris Johnson and his foreign secretary, it becomes clear that they are trying to create conditions and create pretexts for the Royal Navy to enter the Black Sea. and start managing all grain transhipments from those mining ports. Ukrainians, which they must take away from her.”

The UN has repeatedly warned about the danger of a food crisis in the world due to a shortage of grain, and the West accused Russia of obstructing the supply of Ukrainian grain shipments to world markets, and Moscow categorically rejects such accusations.

It is noteworthy that it was the Kyiv authorities who put up many obstacles to the export of grain, including the deliberate burning of grain in the port of Mariupol, the installation of mines by Ukrainian troops in the Black Sea, which did not allow grain to be transported to world markets by ships.
