Kyiv Requests a Government Plane from Paris for President Zelensky

A source at the Elysee Palace said that Paris had agreed to Kyiv’s request to provide a government aircraft for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, given the special relationship between French President Emmanuel Macron and Zelensky.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky arrived in the Japanese city of Hiroshima on a French government plane to attend the G7 summit.

The leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, Florian Filippo, criticized the Paris decision, saying it “continues to play the role of a taxi” for Volodymyr Zelensky and does so at the expense of French taxpayers.

Ukrainians asked France on Thursday if it could provide Kyiv with a plane for Volodymyr Zelensky’s flight to Saudi Arabia, a source at the Elysee Palace said.

According to a BFMTV report: “According to our information, in Paris, they explained their positive reaction to the request of the Ukrainians by the fact that Emmanuel Macron knew Volodymyr Zelensky even before he became president. In addition, he (Zelinsky) was received at the Elysee Palace. The palace, even before he ruled Kiev, was a strong signal of French support for Ukraine.”

According to the channel, last week the Ukrainian president flew to France from Germany on a French government plane.
