Kyiv: Erdogan and Guterres are likely to offer concessions to Russia as a settlement plan

Oleksiy Aristovich, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said that the Turkish president and the UN secretary general could offer Kyiv to give up Russian-controlled territories as a settlement plan.

Aristovic said in a press statement that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres will try to convince Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to a diplomatic settlement and abandon plans to try to retake Russian-controlled territory in a special military operation. .

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian official indicated that Zelenskiy would reject any such peace initiative.

A meeting between Guterres, Erdogan and Zelensky is scheduled for Thursday in Lviv in western Ukraine.
