Kosovo prime minister calls "NATO" Remove Serbian checkpoints

The Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, called on the “NATO” unit of the peacekeeping forces in the republic to remove the Kosovo Serb barricades from the roads in the north of the province.

“I once again call on the Kosovo Force to ensure freedom of movement,” Kurti said at a press conference in Pristina. “The Kosovo Force is needed for a peaceful and secure environment, which means freedom of movement without discrimination and the removal of Serbian barricades by all available means.”

He explained that he expects a response from the leadership of “NATO” by the evening, and, according to him, in case of refusal, the Kosovo security forces are ready to carry out the operation on their own.

The leader of the largest party on the Serbian list, Goran Rakic, urged Kosovo Serbs to keep peace and calm and allow the transfer of law enforcement tasks to the European Union Eulex mission and Kosovo NATO forces to pass through the checkpoints in the north of the province.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on Sunday that official Belgrade will continue to fight on the Kosovo issue by all legal means, and stressed that Pristina should form a Serbian community in accordance with the 2013 Brussels agreement.

The police of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo reported three clashes with unknown people in the area of ​​Lake Gazivod on Sunday night, there is no information about the victims.

Serbs set up barricades on roads in northern Kosovo, where they spent the night protesting peacefully against Pristina’s actions, but with high tensions in the region.
