Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes player Mohamed Salah’s best years are “still ahead” in the German coach’s first comment on Liverpool’s announcement of signing a “long-term deal” with the Egyptian star.
Klopp considered Salah’s contract extension “the best decision for both the club and the player”, saying: “I’m really satisfied, very happy. This is our best solution and the best solution for him. I think he belongs to us.” Now this is his club.
“This is a special gift for our fans to enjoy the weekend even more. I’m sure this news will spark some kind of celebration tonight,” Klopp added.
“Of course it took (Salah’s contract renewal) a while, but that’s completely normal and the best things are always worth the wait anyway.”
Klopp confirmed that Salah is “one of the best players in the world”, stressing that he has no doubt that Salah’s best years are yet to come, adding that “[Salah’s]first five seasons here have been legendary.”
