King Mohammed VI Leads the Unveiling of Morocco’s First Factory-Produced Car Model

Moroccan King Mohammed VI today, Monday, presided over the launch ceremony of the first Moroccan manufacturer’s car model and hydrogen-powered car prototype to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives and creativity.

The presentation of the car by “New Motors”, a company with Moroccan capital, and the prototype hydrogen car “NamX Company”, called HUV (Hydrogen Utility Vehicle), confirm the will of the Moroccan king to encourage innovative national entrepreneurial initiatives, innovative opportunities and progress. These two projects embody this, especially among Moroccan youth.

These two industrial initiatives are fully in line with the Moroccan King’s directives to steer the private sector towards productive investment and stimulate a new generation of companies in the Kingdom.

New Motors has set up a manufacturing facility in Ain Ouda (Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region) to manufacture vehicles for the local market and for export.

The annual production capacity is expected to reach 27,000 units with a local integration rate of 65%.

The hydrogen car prototype was developed by NamX in partnership with Italian bodybuilder Pininfarina.
