Italy Suspends Issuance of Visas to Investors from Russia and Belarus

European Sanctions in Response to Russian Military Operation in Ukraine

Italy has suspended the issuance of visas to investors to citizens of Russia and Belarus as part of European sanctions against Russia in connection with the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

Government Order Confirms Visa Suspension

A statement has been published on the official website confirming the decision taken by government order of July 14, in accordance with Recommendation C (2022) 2028 issued by the European Union.

“Golden Visas” Program

It is noteworthy that “golden visas” have been issued to citizens of non-EU countries since 2017.

An investor who has made a significant contribution to the country’s economy, as well as members of his family, can obtain a permanent residence permit in Italy.
