Israeli Permanent Representative to the UN Gilad Erdan sent an emergency message to the UN Security Council and UN Secretary General António Guterres regarding the Lebanese Hezbollah.
According to a statement released by Hebrew channel I24, Gilad Erdan called in his letter for “immediate action against Hezbollah facilities that have recently been set up near the border with Israel and are being used as cover for the organization’s activities under the guise of environmental activities.”
And Erdan continued: “Hezbollah is expanding its terrorist activities in the area where UNIFIL operates, and the infrastructure of the fake Greens Without Borders organization is aimed at monitoring Israeli soldiers, and the organization serves to store weapons, hide attack tunnels. , points of concentration of military forces, etc.”.
The statement is also accompanied by “photos of containers near the border and monitoring of the activities carried out by activists of the Lebanese organization.”
The Israeli ambassador felt that “the responsibility for Hezbollah’s activities in Lebanon lies with the Lebanese government”, adding: “We expect that immediate steps will be taken to stop the military buildup of Hezbollah and the current reality does not allow UNIFIL to carry out its tasks even if the UN wants to. To prevent the situation from escalating, it must act effectively.”
