Indonesia hopes Putin will attend G20 summit in Bali

ANTARA said the Indonesian authorities hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be able to attend the G20 summit in Bali, which is only a few days away.

The agency quotes Indonesian Foreign Ministry Secretary Seti Utama that his country also hopes to participate in the upcoming summit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Sethi Utama added: “We want the leaders of all the countries we have invited to attend the G20 summit in person. This applies to both Russia and Ukraine. We hope that the heads of these two countries will personally participate in the summit in Bali.”

Earlier it was reported that the Indonesian Foreign Ministry confirmed that so far only 17 heads of state will take part in the summit. But Jakarta did not mention the names of the countries, which have not yet given an answer.

At the same time, neither Russia nor Ukraine, whose representatives were invited to the summit, have announced whether their respective presidents will participate in the event.

It is noteworthy that Ukraine received an invitation to participate in the meeting, although it is not included in the G20.
