Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said his country supports China’s plan for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
He stressed the need for a ceasefire and the start of peace talks.
Orban said: “Hungary stands for peace in all international forums. I see that most countries are for peace. Hungary cannot be isolated from most of the world. Therefore, we consider China’s peace plan important and support it.”
Last Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published a document consisting of 12 articles, which presented Beijing’s proposals for a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The document calls for an early cessation of hostilities and the start of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
The document emphasized a number of principles, including the need to abandon the Cold War mentality, the inadmissibility of achieving national security at the expense of the security of other countries, ensuring regional security by strengthening or even expanding military blocs, stressing that the legitimate security interests and concerns of all countries should be seriously take into account and reject double standards.
