Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili condemned by history and God

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev confirmed that history itself and God have condemned former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to the extreme, as he became an outcast in his homeland.

Medvedev said in an exclusive interview with RT and TASS: “It seems to me that history and God have already condemned him to the fullest extent possible. He turned into an outcast in his homeland, although he was the head of state. He did something stupid. a political trip to Ukraine where he tried to serve another country, which is strange. Too much for another head of state, which is basically unacceptable.”

He recalled that “Saakashvili was also expelled from there.”

“Because he showed his incompetence and servility. He tried to return to his native land in the end and ended up in prison. Everyone has already condemned him. But most importantly, his own people condemn him,” he added.

He believed that the Georgian leadership was responsible for the events in Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008, but that Saakashvili was particularly responsible for the conflict.

He stressed that it was Saakashvili who made the decision to start the aggression, and even with an understanding of the role of the United States and “all kinds of guests,” in the end it was the decision of one person.

He noted that Saakashvili’s mental disorder affected the situation in the region.

Saakashvili was arrested in Georgia on October 1, 2020, on charges of a number of criminal offenses.

On the night of August 8, 2008, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, taking advantage of the opening of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing and the world’s concern about this, attacked the capital of South Ossetia, Tskhinval, and other cities of South Ossetia, firing rockets at them. launchers, destroying and burning more than 600 homes and killing hundreds of civilians, some of whom have Russian citizenship.

The Georgian army attacked the Russian peacekeeping forces in South Ossetia, resulting in the death of a number of Russian soldiers, and Russia launched the “Operation to force Georgia to peace”, which ended within five days with the defeat of Saakashvili’s remnants and the arrival of Russian tanks to the outskirts of the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
