The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported that a local SBU officer was found dead in his home in the center of the country.
In Telegram, Ukraine’s prosecutor’s office stated that “Oleksandr Nakonichny’s wife heard the sound of bullets from her apartment in Kropyvnytskyi late on Saturday evening, before the body of her husband with a gunshot wound was found in one of the rooms. .”
The prosecutor’s office indicated that “the police launched an investigation to determine the cause of death, without adding any comments about the hypotheses that the investigators are studying.”
Andrey Lavros, an elected local official, said in a Telegram: “The official committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.”
It is worth noting that Alexander Nakonichny has been in charge of the local branch of the SBU in the Kirovograd region since January 2021.
