heres 1 unexpectedly awesome reason to be proud of your home state

We are well aware that your state is the best. We bet you’ve found at least one reason to be really proud of your home state, whether it has the most beautiful coastline, the coolest art scene, or the most beautiful mountain range in the country. We did you a favour by finding another:
Since the beginning of the U.S. Space programme, the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, which is also known as “the Rocket City,” has been an important part of it. The Marshall Center made the Saturn V rocket that took the United States to the moon. It also led important projects like the Hubble Space Telescope. The photo above shows the Space Shuttle Atlantis, which was part of a series of Spacelab missions run out of Huntsville, Alabama.
The Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve is, in fact, one of the most patriotic places in the country. About 3,000 bald eagles live in the 48,000-acre sanctuary. They come there between October and February to eat the last salmon of the season. It was set up to protect Alaska’s bald eagles, and it now has the largest number of these majestic birds anywhere in the world.

In 1975, Sierra Vista was the first place to get fast food with a drive-thru. The drive-thru was made so that off-duty soldiers from a nearby military base could get food without getting out of their cars. This was because they couldn’t leave their uniforms on and go into a restaurant. Of course, McDonald’s would soon find out that a drive-thru is also useful for a lot of regular people.

In Arkansas, cheese dip isn’t just something that goes with tortilla chips. The rest of the world usually thinks of the dip as a Mexican food, but Arkansas restaurants, from burger joints to cafes, serve it everywhere. Nick Rogers, an Arkansas lawyer and filmmaker, made a documentary called “In Queso Fever” that traces the history of cheese dip back to a restaurant in Arkansas called Little Mexico around 1935. Some Texans would definitely disagree with that claim. No matter where it came from, there’s no doubt that Arkansas is proud of cheese dip and that its World Cheese Dip Championship has made it a global competition.
