The commander of the Viking group in the Western military department of the Russian army said that the Ukrainian propaganda machine is working to deceive foreign mercenaries.
The Russian officer said that Ukrainian propaganda is trying to present the Russian military as “idiots” and that they are fighting with primitive means “like with spears in their hands”, the purpose of all this is to lure mercenaries and attract more of them to the side of the Ukrainian troops.
“But foreigners are surprised when they enter a conflict zone and face reality on the battlefield,” the officer added.
The Russian officer continued: “Here they portray the conflict as if it is happening with a bunch of fools. As if the Russian military has nothing to eat but hedgehogs and snakes and fight with bayonets. But the mercenaries are dumbfounded when our shells bombard their positions, and they are surprised by the presence of our drones.”
The Russian officer stressed that “mercenaries come here under the illusion that nothing will happen to them and nothing bad will happen to them. This is Ukrainian propaganda, propaganda of the elite in their own country. In order to be able to lure someone somewhere, you have to show how stupid everyone on the other side is.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, mercenaries from different countries are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian forces, but most of them are professional soldiers from Poland. Poles also account for the majority of mercenary deaths on the battlefield.
