Firefighters in the German capital and other teams rushed to Friedrichstraße train station on Monday to take part in the mass evacuation of a commuter train.
Firefighters indicated that there were “massive injuries”, noting that many people were suffering from circulatory problems, knowing that the weather was very hot at the time of the accident.
It is not yet clear how many people were actually affected.
Because of this problem, the movement of trains in the center of Berlin was temporarily suspended, not only for commuter trains, but also for long-distance trains.
According to the railroad and the federal police, some passengers had already managed to independently get out of the damaged train into the open air before the evacuation began and followed the railroad towards the station.
The company and police said the movement was not permitted and dangerous.
The representative of the railway company explained that it became necessary to evacuate the commuter train “C Ban” after it stopped the movement before reaching the station due to a technical malfunction.
