German police have launched an investigation into the fact that eight women complained of feeling unwell after participating in an event of the German Social Democratic Party.
newspaper reported Tagesspiegel Herman that several women were drugged with the so-called “rape drug” at a party of the parliamentary faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, which was attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The event took place last Wednesday, and about a thousand people took part in it, including deputies, employees of the Bundestag and constituencies.
Matthias Martin, leader of the German Social Democratic Party faction, said in a letter to party deputies that drug use had taken place “clearly” at the party. “This is an outrageous incident, which we immediately reported to the Bundestag police,” the politician said.
The term “rape drug” is given to the substance K.-o.-Tropfen, which is used by attackers to render the victim unconscious and unconscious before they are raped.
