Gas prices in Europe continued to rise, at the auction today, on Tuesday, they exceeded $2,000 per thousand cubic meters for the first time since March 2022.

The rise came after Russian Gazprom announced yesterday that another Siemens turbine in Nord Stream 1 (a gas pipeline from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea) would be shut down due to maintenance work, noting that the volume gas pumping through the Nord Stream gas pipeline will amount to 33 million cubic meters per day, or up to 20% of the nominal capacity of the gas pipeline.
