Paris Saint-Germain, winners of the French football league, will kick off their domestic season by taking on cup winners Nantes on Sunday night in the French Champions Cup.
The confrontation will take place at 18:00 Moscow time in Tel Aviv.
This match is a traditional occasion for the opening of the season in France and will be played for the second time at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, after the last one in which Lille won the title precisely at the expense of Saint-Germain (1-0).
Saint-Germain holds the record for most French Cup titles with 10 times, ahead of Lyon (8), Reims and Saint-Étienne (5), and Nantes has three titles in 1965, 1999 and 2001.
The numbers have tipped in Nantes’ favor in head-to-heads in recent years, knowing that the two teams traded victories last season and Saint-Germain won 3-1, so the Canaries hailed him with the same result.
But 24 head-to-heads in the last 12 years between the two teams in which ally Saint-Germain has won 21 times, compared to 3 for Nantes, which he has achieved in the last three years.
Saint-Germain was well prepared for the match against Nantes and the start of the new season, as he scored three wins in 3 matches he played in the preparatory tour in Japan, at the expense of Kawasaki Frontale 2:1, Urawa Red Diamonds 3. -0 and Gamba Osaka 6-2.
