Trump described his trial as “should never have happened given my right to freedom of expression and Biden’s massive corruption” in a post on the social networking site Truth Social.
Trump Condemns Prosecutors’ Request
Trump condemned prosecutors’ request to start a trial on January 2, 2024 in the storming of the Capitol, calling it “election interference.”
January 2 Trial Date
Notably, the US Attorney’s Office has demanded that Trump’s trial in a case that charges him with conspiracy to annul the results of the 2020 election begins on January 2.
Other Criminal Charges Faced by Trump
Trump faces criminal charges in two other cases related to violating campaign finance rules for paying a sum to a pornographic actress in exchange for her silence about his relationship with her, and because Trump kept classified U.S. national security documents at his summer residence in the state of Florida.
