For the second time in a week, Biden confuses two wars and forgets the place where his son died

For the second time in a week, US President Joe Biden, during a speech, gave false information in which he claimed that his late son “Bo” died while serving in Iraq, which is not true.

At a meeting in South Florida on Tuesday, when Biden discussed inflation, Medicare and Social Security, he first confused the war in Iraq with the war in Ukraine, and then indicated that he was thinking about the war in Iraq because of his son.

“They’re talking about inflation,” the president said. “Inflation is now a global issue because of the war in Iraq, its impact on oil, and what Russia is doing… Sorry, the war in Ukraine. I’m thinking about Iraq because there my son died.”

Beau Biden died after a battle with brain cancer in May 2015 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland at the age of 46.

“Bo” Biden returned from Iraq in September 2009 after serving there for one year in the US Army of Occupation as a lawyer with the Delaware National Guard Brigade.

Minutes after Biden inaccurately mentioned the place of his son’s death, he again referred to the incident when discussing prescription drug prices, but this time the US president correctly mentioned the cause of death.

“My son died of stage 4 glioblastoma,” Biden said.

Joe Biden has made it clear in the past that he believes Bo, who also served as Delaware Attorney General, suffered toxic burns while in Iraq that could cause cancer.

“From my point of view, I can’t prove it yet,” he said during a speech in 2019. “He came back with stage 4 glioblastoma. He lived for 18 months knowing he was going to die.”

It is not clear whether the US President on Tuesday was referring to the alleged consequences his son suffered in Iraq, or if this was another slip of the tongue.

On October 13, Biden made the same mistake during a speech in Colorado, telling the audience that his son “died in Iraq.”

He said, “I say this as the father of a man who received the Bronze Star, Distinguished Service Medal and died in Iraq imagining courage, bravery and true sacrifice.”

For decades, the President of the United States has battled public fetishism, and it has become more frequent during his presidency.

On September 28, in a surprising caveat, Biden attempted to identify late Rep. Jackie Vallorsky during a rally, forgetting that she had died earlier this year, and although he released a statement of mourning for Vallorsky’s death and ordered the White House flag to be flown at half mast for two days .
