Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Replaces Presidential Campaign Manager Amid Polling Gap with Trump: Meet the New Team

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Changes to his Presidential Campaign Team

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is making changes to his presidential campaign team as he faces challenges in narrowing the gap between himself and former President Donald Trump, and growing concerns from his top donors.

Generra Peck, who played a crucial role in DeSantis’ successful reelection as governor last year, but has faced criticism as the head of his White House bid, will be replaced by James Uthmeier, who previously served as the chief of staff for the governor’s office.

David Polyansky, a political strategist who previously worked for the pro-DeSantis super political action committee Never Back Down, will join as Uthmeier’s deputy campaign manager.

According to The Messenger, Peck will continue to serve as DeSantis’ chief campaign strategist.

This shakeup in the campaign management comes after DeSantis’ campaign, which is only 10 weeks old, has already let go of numerous staff members, reportedly due to financial concerns.

“James Uthmeier has been one of Governor DeSantis’ top advisors for years, and he will be working closely with Generra Peck and the rest of the team to position the governor in the best possible way to win the primary and defeat Joe Biden,” said communications director Andrew Romeo in a statement to .

“David Polyansky’s experience in presidential campaigns in Iowa and his work at Never Back Down will be an invaluable addition to the team,” Romeo added. “We are excited about these new additions as we continue to spread the governor’s message across the country. It is time to reverse our nation’s decline and revive America’s future.”
