The FBI seized $1.7 million worth of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Monero (XMR), and the stablecoins USDT and DAI in three months.

FBI Reveals Seizure of Cryptocurrency

A document released by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed the seizure of $1.7 million worth of cryptocurrency from various sources, including Binance accounts.

The law enforcement agency seized $147,000 worth of Bitcoin, $800,000 worth of Ethereum, $307,000 worth of DAI, $469,000 worth of DAI, and just $20,000 Monero.

New Record: $781,000 Worth of ETH Seized

A total of 428.5 ETH — the equivalent of about $781,000 — was seized in the eastern region of Virginia, which is a new record. One of those bouts netted out $463,000 on its own.

The FBI has highlighted that the seizures resulted from violations of federal regulations and that the agency is “providing notice that the property listed below has been forfeited for federal forfeiture for violation of federal law.”

Other seized assets featured in the document include United States currency held in bank accounts, designer clothing, and luxury cars.
