Extension of the suspension period for the participation of Russian and Belarusian figure skaters in summer competitions

The International Skating Federation (FIS) has announced the extension of the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions for the entire summer season of 2022.

The International Ski Federation, through its official website, has stated that the FIS Council will return to the issue of exclusion of Russia and Belarus in the fall, as the situation in Ukraine develops.

It is noteworthy that the International Ski Federation suspended the Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices, knowing that the Federation Council initially did not intend to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes from the World Cup in ski racing, despite the requirements of sports federations, especially the Norwegian Ski Federation.
