Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed hope that he will win the election in the first round and that “the Turkish people will not complicate the situation and put an end” in one round of the presidential election.
Erdogan said in an interview with local TV channels: “First of all, I believe that my people will finish things without complicating them. I saw this determination in the area of the earthquake in Bagcilar and Pendik.”
Presidential and parliamentary elections are to be held in Turkey on May 14.
The second round, if none of the candidates receives more than 50% of the votes, will take place on May 28.
