Elon Musk’s Social Media Platform X to Launch Peer-to-Peer Payments

Elon Musk’s social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, has announced its plans to introduce peer-to-peer payments this year, according to a recent blog post.

X aims to unlock more user utility and commerce opportunities as it works towards revolutionizing the platform in 2024. However, specific details about how the payments will function and the official launch date have not been disclosed.

This move to incorporate peer-to-peer transactions is just one of the many significant changes that have taken place at X since Musk acquired the company for $44 billion in late 2022. Musk, who is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, envisions transforming X into an all-encompassing app where users can carry out various tasks, from posting content to managing their finances.

In a tweet in July, Musk stated that X plans to offer comprehensive communication capabilities and the ability to handle one’s entire financial world. Months before that, X partnered with eToro, a social trading company, to introduce a feature that allows users to access cryptocurrencies, stocks, and other financial assets.

The company also revealed its plans to enhance original content and talent, invest in creators and content partnerships, and strengthen advertisements in the upcoming year.

X aspires to become more than just another app; it aims to seamlessly integrate various experiences into a single interface for everyone.

‘s request for comment from X has not been answered at the time of writing.
