Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel Al-Wazir has announced that his country is on its way to phasing out imports of rail cars and buses from abroad.

The Transport Minister said in a meeting he held with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to present the latest developments in the intensive effort to localize the transport and railway industry in Egypt in partnership with the private sector, which are efforts that have reached advanced stages in as part of the provision of transport components at the national level Transportation, which Egypt is on the way to avoid re-importing railway wagons or buses from abroad, as they are produced in Egypt by the hands of the Egyptians.

The move is the first of its kind in Egypt\’s history, as Cairo has previously imported wagons and buses from abroad, the latest being a deal for 1,300 wagons from the Transmashholding alliance, which continues to deliver. until now.
