Al Ahli reached the Egyptian Cup final to face their traditional rival, defending champion Zamalek, defeating Petrojet 2-0 yesterday, Saturday, in a postponed meeting between the two from the 2020-2020 semi-finals. Version 2021.
Al-Ahli opened the scoring early thanks to Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” in the eighth minute with a shot from outside the box, which hit the net to the left of goalkeeper Mohamed Abu El-Naga.
Mohamed Abdel Moneim strengthened his team’s offensive, taking advantage of a cross from Tunisian Ali Maaloula, who turned his head to the right of the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute.
Mostafa El-Gamal did not convert a penalty in favor of Petrojet, which was saved by goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi, and in the 44th minute the defense dispersed.
Zamalek advanced to the final match after beating Aswan 2-1 to face Al Ahli on 21 July at the Borg El Arab Army Stadium.
