The price of the dollar rose in the Central Bank of Egypt and a number of Egyptian banks, for the first time in today’s trading, after the decision of the Central Bank to fix the interest rate last Thursday.
And the price of the dollar at the Central Bank of Egypt was fixed at 18.71 pounds when buying and 18.82 pounds when selling, which means that it jumped two piastres compared to the previous price.
The price of the National Bank of Egypt rose, fixing the price of the dollar at 18.73 pounds when buying and 18.79 pounds when selling.
The price of the dollar in Banque Misr jumped to a record 18.73 pounds on the buy and 18.79 pounds on the sell.
And the dollar rose at the Bank of Alexandria to a record high of 18.75 pounds on a buy and 18.81 pounds on a sale today.
At the same time, the price of the dollar in a commercial international bank jumped to a record 18.75 pounds when buying and 18.81 pounds when selling.
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt decided at its meeting on Thursday to keep overnight deposit and lending rates, as well as the main operating rate of the central bank at 11.25%, 12.25% and 11.75% respectively.
