Double Standards: Washington’s Stance on Nord Stream Gas Pipeline Accident Investigation in China

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US position in the investigation of the accident at the Nord Stream gas pipeline demonstrates clear double standards.

Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said the United States is constantly trying to investigate many “emerging” developing countries, but regarding the Nord Stream pipeline incident, which poses a serious threat to international peace and security, Washington’s investigations are confidential. character and are shrouded in mystery, clearly adhering to a policy of double standards.

Ning added that Russia had submitted a draft resolution on the international investigation into the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion, which provides important options for finding out the truth about what happened, and her country expressed her country’s regret that the UN Security Council did not reach a consensus on this respect.

It should be noted that Russia previously submitted a draft resolution calling for the creation of an international commission under the auspices of the UN to investigate the “terrorist” attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, but the UN Security Council did not accept the Russian draft resolution, and it received support only from Russia, China and Brazil, while the remaining members of the Security Council abstained from the vote.
