Director of Central Intelligence: "tik tak" A real threat to US national security

CIA director William Burns said the popularity of the Chinese social networking app Tik Tok was of concern to Washington, noting that it could pose a real threat to national security.

Burns added, according to what I mentioned mass media: “I think this app is a real problem for the government.”

He indicated that he shares the fears of officials who call the application a threat to national security.

Burns added: “TikTok is a Chinese company, which means that the Chinese government will be able to insist on accessing and obtaining information from users in the United States, as well as control the content on the social network.”

The US Senate has approved a bill to ban TikTok from being installed on federal government electronic devices. The popular app for making and viewing short videos is also banned by government officials in the states of Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and North and South Dakota.
